A good straight forward Sauvignon Blanc which can be
drunk as an aperitif or with food.

Sierra Merlot 2004/2005 (6) £4.25 £25.50
Supple, uncomplicated wine that has good fruit and texture.

TORREON DE PAREDES
These are new to the list. The Merlot deserves special mention. Full flavoured but with quite some style it really does deliver a good glass of wine.

WHITE

Sauvignon Blanc 2005/2006 (12) £5.89 £70.68
Delightfully fresh elegant and pleasing Sauvignon (12) ½ bot £4.05 £48.60
which is good as an aperitif or with food.

Chardonnay 2005/2006 (12) £5.89 £70.68
Full flavoured but well balanced, this Chardonnay
goes well with food.

RED

Cabernet Sauvignon 2004/2005 (12) £5.89 £70.68
A lovely easy well flavoured Cabernet Sauvignon that is a
truly excellent example of a wine to drink on all occasions
by all ages.

Merlot 2004/2005 (12) £5.89 £70.68
Worthy of a fine steak this is quite a big wine that has
potential to age as well as giving a very good account of
the layers of fruit and complexity already there.

ANDES PEAK
SANTA EMILIANA, CASABLANCA CHILE
The Santa Emiliana vineyards have an increasingly good reputation for consistency and quality and a growing market share in the sale of Chilean wines.

Andes Peak Sauvignon Blanc 2006/2007 £4.98 £59.76
This is a perfect partner to salmon and delicately flavoured white fish.
Not too overpowinginly zippy and tangy to spoil their flavour,
but with plenty of fruit.

Andes Peak Chardonnay 2005/2006 £4.98 £59.76
A well balanced and rounded wine, this lovely lemony yellow
Chardonnay has a flavour hinting of bananas and pineapples
and is particularly good with food.

Andes Peak Merlot 2005/2006 £4.98 £59.76
An excellent example of New World Merlot, round, soft and
full of flavour but with good underlying tannins.

Andes Peak Cabernet Sauvignon 2005/2006 £4.98 £59.76
Although this wine does not have the full fruitiness of its brother
above, it has a powerful earthy structure typical of Cabernet
Sauvignon but ending with a mellow note.

Andes Peak Reserve 2003/2005 £5.78 £69.36
Cabernet Sauvignon
As you would expect, this is a better structured wine with more
ageing potential but is drinking well now.

LOS VASCOS
BARONS PHILIPPE DE ROTHCHILD – LAFITE

Los Vasco Chardonnay 2002 £6.99 £83.88
Very well made wine with good up front fruit.
Lovely clean easy drinking.

Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon 2001/2002 £6.99 £83.88
Still one of the most popular wines to come out of Chile.
Good blackberry fruit. The 2001 is drinking now but the 2002 perhaps needs a little more time.

ARGENTINA

GOYENECHEA

Sauvignon Blanc 2006/2007 (12) £4.98 £59.76
Light, fresh easy drinking with good firm finish.

Chardonnay 2006/2007 (12) £5.29 £63.48
A wonderfully ripe flavoursome chardonnay,
but without any oak at all.

Merlot 2004/2005 (12) £5.29 £63.48
An excellent glass of new world Merlot, rich and full with a
mellowness that suggests it is perfect for drinking now.
